Sangria

Here's a straightforward, but mighty good, Sangria recipe. It can be made equally well with either red or white wine.

:  Always good on a hot summer day!  :

Directions

:  Prepare the fruit:

1 granny smith apple, diced
1 fresh pear, diced
1 can (6 oz) pineapple chunks
1 fresh lime, sliced crosswise
1 fresh orange, peeled and sliced crosswise
1 can (6 oz) mandarin oranges

:  Combine all of the ingredients in a glass pitcher, including any juice from the fruit. Add the sparkling water and stir well. Let sit in the fridge for an hour or two.

:  Serve over ice, garnished with some of the fruit from the pitcher.

Notes...

The wine I like best for red Sangria is a Syrah or Shiraz. For white Sangria I favor a Sauvignon Blanc or a Prinot Grigio. However, just about any wine will work and you don't need to spend a lot of money on the choice of wine.
